SECURITY SETTINGS IN OFFICE 365 AND AZURE
There are a lot of different settings you can apply in Office 365 and Azure which relates to security. These pages will list most of the security settings that you can apply with additional information on why you should apply it, how you can apply it (using PowerShell and the browser) and the user impact. Below each page I will also add a PowerShell script to quickly verify if the settings are the same as described in the page. Note that these settings may change over time or new settings will be added. Please add a comment if a security setting is not listed on the page or if a security setting should be different.
Hi! My name is Maarten Peeters and I'm 30 years old. I'm a security consultant working in the Netherlands @Portiva. My current role includes advising customers on the various Microsoft cloud security features (for example Mobile Device Management, Advanced Threat Protection, Azure Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention) and helping the customer implement these in their environment. My previous role was mainly the installation, configuration, maintenance and migration of SharePoint and Office 365 environments. I also work with a variety of Microsoft & third party products such as Sharegate and Nintex.
I've always been interested in IT and started working as a consultant after my bachelor degree at the Fontys university Eindhoven in 2011. I obtained a fair share of Microsoft certificates during my career as you can see by clicking on the certificate further down. I'm busy with building websites, maintaining my own servers and learning new stuff most of the time. I'm not a developer but I know my way trough PowerShell, C#, HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. I like to ride my Suzuki Intruder (Motorcycle), work on my miniature railroad, playing the trumpet in an fanfare and started airbrushing a while ago where I also uploaded a few creations as you can see by clicking on Spyro further down.
